Lotus Makeup colorkick kajal review & swatch

Hi Everyone :)

Today I am reviewing Lotus Make - up Colorkick kajal.

 Ever since I saw the advertisement I was tempted to try it. So when I was at health & glow I quickly grabbed this when the SA swatched it, the color was jet black in just one swipe. She told me to let it set for a minute and after that she applied the cleansing milk on top of it and rubbed it vigoursly and this baby dint not smudge or budge what so ever. I was amazed and told her to bill it immediately.

Product claims: An extreme, deep black pigmented smudge proof formula enriched with botanical extracts of almond oil. The one glide application makes it easy to use without any flakiness and stays perfect for 8 hours without any smudge.

They also have included guidelines for 3 different looks that might be useful for a lot of newbies.

100% vegetarian enriched with botanical extracts.

                     

Texture & Pigmentation:

This kajal is ultra smooth and glides on like butter on my eyes. No pulling or tugging at all. Color intensity is jet black and super pigmented. You just need one swipe to get a solid black color that instantly makes my eye brighter.

Lasting power:

This lasted for a good 6 hours on me which is pretty good and after that it started to fade slightly from my waterline.

When I set the kajal with a black eye shadow this lasts easily for 8-10 hours.

After rubbing 1 minute later it still is intense and faded just slightly 

Packaging: I find the packaging really adorable. It comes in a flirty pink retractable pencil. The twist up mechanism makes it easy to use and makes it travel friendly 

Pros:

• Jet black in 1 swipe
• Contains almond oil which is good for eyes
• 100% vegetarian
• Smudge proof
• Decent staying power
• Even & smooth application
• Doesn't irritate or sting my eyes
• Lives up to most of it claims
• Works fantastic as base for smokey eye makeup look 

Cons:

• Slightly pricey for the quantity (may be a con for some)
• Complete ingredient list is missing.
• Does not stay for 8 hours unless you set it with black eye shadow (I dont mind that as I almost always set my kajal with ES)

Rating: 4.75/5

Overall verdict: I always liked Lakme eyeconic over Maybelline colossal and now I can easily say that I like it as much as Lakme eyeconic. Well in terms of pigmentation this is better than Lakme & Maybelline but in terms of staying power lakme eyeconic wins. I will repurchase this.

Aroma Magic Neem & Tea tree face wash review

Today I am reviewing o my HG (Holy Grail) face wash and I am on my 5th tube now.

I have a sensitive oily acne prone skin and this is just so great for it. Although it has neem in it, it dint irritate my skin (Touch wood). I love to use products that are free from artificial fragrance and paraben. 

Packaging is so pretty. There are 6 variants in this range I guess and the packaging of all 6 is different and pretty :) There is one for every skin type.

It has a mild herbal smell which was bothering me in the first week but after that I just got used to it. It isn't weird but a little different I would say because of neem tea tree and other essential oils that it has.

Aroma Magic claims : I am 100% free of paraben, soap, alcohol, artificial colouring and fragrance. I cure acne with my neem & rose extracts. I help prevent blackheads and soothe skin irritations with my blend of Tea tree & lavender essential oils. The vitamins in me lighten scars, blemishes & improve skin tone.

How to use: Apply to moist face and neck. Massage and rinse off properly.

Caution: Sunscreen essential. Avoid use on dry sensitive skin.

Ingredients: Aqua, lauryl glucoside, glyceryl oleate, melaleuca alternifolia oil, azadirachtaindica extract, hydroxyproplytrimonium honey, fruit derived beta carotene, lavandula angustifolia oil and citrus medica limonium extract.

My experience:  This face wash is soo good it lives upto the claims which is incredible. It does help in controlling my acne and reducing it. It also lightens my scars in the long run. It does not prevent black heads but it sure does help me in reducing the frequency and getting rid of it quicker than otherwise. So no issues with that either. 

My skin feels soft and smooth after using this face wash. I makes my skin fresh and slightly glowy after using this. It means its removed all the dust and grime pretty well ;) It does control shine for 4-5 hours on me. I feel I end up using more water with this product to wash my face. Although it does not leave any residue.

The consistency is gel like and not runny. The color of the face wash is a very pale green as you can see in the picture above. It does not lather as it does not have soap or sulphates but does its job like a super hero yayyy :)

Pros:

1. Uber cute packaging.
2. Does live up to its claims.
3. Removes dust and grime effectively.
4. Controls shin for 4-5 hours.
5. Helps in reducing acne.
6. Lightens blemishes.
7. Removes black heads.
8. Skin feels squeaky clean.
9. Gives a nice glow to the skin.
10. Skin feel soft and smooth after using this.
11. Great value for money.
12. Does not irritate my sensitive skin.
13. Not tested on animals.
14. Free from soap, paraben, artificial colour and fragrance.

Cons:

1. Smell may be over powering for some but I am completely okay with it now.
2. I end up using more water I dont know why. Although it does not leave any residue.

ATSL Rating: 5/5. Anything less than this is just too harsh.

Price: INR 110 for 100 ml & INR 60 for 50 ml.

Shelf life: 3 years.

Will I repurchase?:  Definitely yes this is my 5th tube and the 6th one is already there ready for use.

Recommendation: Its a must try for beauties with oily acne prone skin. I am sure you will love it. Please give it a shot.

Revlon color burst lip butter - 015 TUTTI FRUTTI review & swatch

Tangerine/ orange is a huge hit ever since 2013 and Orange is the new red is what we heard from the makeup industry.

Well so here is a review for you guys which is a very pretty tangerine color. I personally like this color a lot as it looks flattering on me and I get a lot of compliments everytime I wear this.

Revlon Tutti frutti is a very pretty and vibrant tangerine orange which reminds me of sometimes Fanta and sometimes the Kwality walls Orange stick ice. Uhhmmm its becoming kinda hot here in Chennai and its time to take  out all the summer shades ;) :P

Product description:

Color Burst Lip Butter by Revlon is a buttery balm with beautiful shiny color to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips 94% of women felt lips were softer, smoother, and instantly hydrated. Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%.  Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth.  Sheer to medium color with buttery shine.

This is a very nice spring summer orange shade which has a glossy sheen and is sheer to medium in coverage in formula but the color is very much buildable.

The packaging is really good. Elegant, easy to identify because of the coloured packaging, the lock system is good too..

1 swipe

The consistency is like a buttery lip balm which is smooth and creamy and glides on smoothly and effortlessly on my lips.

My lips are naturally a little pink so it tones down this orange- y-ness.

2 swipes

It has a glossy finish and its super hydrating on lips and it wears off it 3 – 3.5 hours max.

Revlon Tutti frutti  moderately opaque being translucent at the same time (If you know what I mean)

Pros:

1. Feels buttery soft on lips.
2. Love the packaging.
3. The color is damn pretty.
4. Will suit fair-medium skin tone.
5. Perfect spring/summer shade
6. Extremely hydrating.
7. Glossy finish without being sticky on lips
8. Everytime I wear I get soo many compliments (Browniee points earned)
9. The shade is soo in right now.
10. Glides on smoothly and effortlessly on my lips as if it were butter.

Cons:

1. Its very squishy and I have to be very careful when twisting or applying it. Infact when I was clicking pictures for this post I broke it :( but then I gently twisted it in and now its set gain. Pheww…
2. Needs to be reapplied every 3 hours.

Price: INR 600

Will I repurchase : Yes and I will also check out more colors from this range.

Maduban naturals pomegranate face & body scrub review

Off lately I am a lot into all natural and organic skin care products as most of them have no side effects and if chosen the right product according to your skin type and concern it will deliver preferred result with continued usage.

One such product is the Maduban Naturals Pomegranate Face and body scrub which I showed you in my Haul post HERE. I got it online from natural mantra when mega sale was going on around republic day.

HOW TO USE :

For face and neck:

• 1 tsp of Maduban scrub
• Water- to mix it into a semi liquid paste like consistency
• Allow this mixture to marinate for 10 mins so that the mixture becomes soft and gentle
• Dampen your skin with warm water and smooth the fruit scrub gently onto your  neck and face.
• Moisten your fingers and massage the scrub onto your skin using a circular motion to exfoliate.
•  Avoid area around the eyes.
• Rinse the scrub with warm water and gently pat dry your body with a soft, dry towel.

I am soo impressed by this scrub.

At first when I saw the scrub I was afraid that big chunks may scar my sensitive skin and all that so I decided to use it for my hands first just to test it out. But oh boy! Don’t get intimidated  by seeing its big granules they are soo gentle on skin.

I use it twice  a week as I have oily skin prone to acne. If you have normal or dry skin use it once a week.

Its doing great for my sensitive skin and does not give me any rash,redness or itching. Yaaaayyyyyyyy :D

How it feels on my skin :

PROS:

1. It takes out all the dust and grime.
2. Did help lighten my pimple marks with regular use.
3. Does loosen the blackheads a little.
4. Leaves my skin feeling smooth and fresh.
5. I see a slight glow on my face after using this scrub. 
6. Does not irritate my sensitive skin.
7. 100% natural, pure and organic.
8. Very gentle on skin.
9. Removes dead cell and flaky skin.
10. No side effects (yuppie)

CONS:

1. Dint help in preventing pimples but that is next to impossible for any product to do that as occurrence of pimples is not just related to products we use but also what we consume and exposure to sun so None for me.

All in all does its job well and meets the claims.

PRICE: 225 INR for 100 grams. But I got it on sale for 190 ^_^

Maybelline color sensational moisture extreme lip color in Bronze Orange Review and swatches

Heyyy guys today I  am gonna share with you one of the best lipsticks from Maybelline. And this range  has a whole lot of shades to choose from. 

I Love this lippie even more because i got it for free from Shoppers Stop during the last year sale when i purchased Maybelline color sensational lipstick in Hooked on pink reviewed HERE and Crazy for coffee from the same range reviewed HERE.

The packaging is pretty regular and sturdy. Although the locking mechanism is pretty trusty. The colored packaging makes it so much easier to identify the lipstick during those times when your in a hurry ( which most often I am in :P. LOL!!)

The texture of this lippie as the name suggests is very creamy and buttery and it glides on super smoothly. It moisturizes the lips and is very light but sometimes tends to settle into the lines wen you have very dry lips  because of the creaminess otherwise its just right. The color pay off of this shade is EXCELLENT. It goes opaque in just 1 swipe. You can very easily build up the intensity.

2 swipes

The finish is almost satiny and very slightly glossy. It moisturizes the lips well. To describe the shade, its a warm rusty orange with coral undertones. In my opinion the shade will suit beauties with fair to medium complexion.

These lipsticks are enriched with SPF 15 which gives sun protection. The shade transfers on the glasses so it does not survive a meal. The staying power without meal is about 4 hours on me. It definitely needs touch ups.

Its a great value for money and very nominally priced. The shade according to me is suitable for casual, college/office as well as for party wear.

Pros:

1. Convenient packaging.
2. Very pretty and subtle warm orange shade.
3. Contains SPF 15
4. Moisturizes well
5. Light and creamy texture
6. Excellent pigmentation
7. Great value for money

Cons :

1. Not suitable for dark skinned beauties
2. Not suitable for very dry lips
3. Transfers 
4. Staying power could be better

Price : 285 for 4 grams

ATSL Rating :  3.75/5

Overall : A pretty warm toned orange that will best suit fair to medium toned girls. With SPF and excellent color pay off its is a great shade to buy. Value for money Although the staying power could have been better.

Pond's White Beauty BB+ Fairness Cream Review + Swatch

Hellooo gorgeous :) Today I am going to review one of my favorite product at present, Pond's White Beauty BB+ Fairness cream which is soooo G.O.O.D. and I use it for my everyday wear to College. When I am in hurry and i have no time for Sunscreen i just apply this and I'm good to go.

Pond's White Beauty BB+Fairness Cream contains the GenWhite COVER Formula.

         

     

Ponds claims: 

• Instant  natural glow on Outside
• Lightens skin and spots from inside. (I think GenWhite COVER formula does this)
• Even skin tone
• Spf 30 PA++ sun protection
• Does not clog pores
• Light, non oily.

How I use :

1. I first take a pea size amount on the back of my palm and apply small dots on my T- Zone and then blend it using my fingers (by tapping) or my foundation brush in downward strokes when i want a smooth & even  finish.
2. Then i go ahead and apply it on the rest of my face & neck.
3. You need to blend it well and quickly especially if you have dry skin. 

Contains:

 Ginger root extract which is great for dealing with pimples and blemishes. And no joking it did help me reduce my stubborn pimple marks. 

Sunscreen Protection SPF 30 PA++ :  Protects from sun damage.

Vitamin E : Reduces free radicals which age the skin and cause dark spots.

Allantoin : Said to be anti-inflammatory & helps in reducing the pigmentation.

Its one color for all product which is the major draw back and Ponds BB Cream. Although for me its fine as its almost close to my skin tone uuhhhhmmmm may be no its just a tad lighter than my skin tone but when i blend it properly it just sets in with my skin tone. It has an almost satiny finish. And since i have a slightly oily skin I set this with powder/ compact.

I need only so much for my face and neck. Requiring minimal product means long usage. 

Bare hand without BB cream

With the BB cream

See how it covers my  green veins. It covers around 50 % of my blemishes.

Pros:

1.  Gives a satiny finish.
2. Conceals 50% of dark spots.
3. Works great as a primer too.
4. My face does not become dull even after 5-6 hours so no touch ups required.
5. Hell yes it does help reduce the appearance of my blemish. (I feel its the ginger root extract)
6. SPF 30 with PA++
7. Does not just conceal but also heals. (*Brownie points earned*)
8. Inexpensive and Great value for money. 
9. Nice packaging
10. Smells good
11. Available in 2 sizes.
12. Does not clog pores and is non oily.

Cons:

1. Only 1 shade so i think dark skinned beauties wont be able to reap the benefits of this cream.
2. Girls with Dry skin might wanna layer a moisturiser underneath or it may look flaky.

Price: INR 125 for 18 grams & INR 69 for 9 grams. 

ATSL Rating: 4.75. 

In short if your fair to medium skin toned you might definitely wanna try it. I am sure it wont disappoint you.
