BEAUTY BENEFITS OF GREEN TEA

Heyy pretty :).. hope you guys are having a fun week end... today I am gonna tell you guys about some of the amazing beauty benefit of green tea for skin ans hair. All of us are aware that it helps in weight loss but it also has tremendous benefits on skin and hair.

It contains flavanoids (polyphenols), 2-4% caffiene that boosts the memory and thinking abilities, anti oxidants and anti inflamatory properties.

Green tea is best consumed or applied onto the skin.

Benefits of green tea on skin

  1. Fights against free radicals.
  2. Protects against skin cancer.
  3. Reduces and heals the sun damage caused onto our skin.
  4. Delays the ageing process.
  5. Prevents wrinkles, freckles, saggy skin.
  6. Increases the elasticity of the skin thus making it soft and supple.
  7. It is anti bacterial thus helps in curing acne and pimples.
  8. The anti oxidants helps in cell renewal process.
  9. Prevents skin cancer.
  10. Soothes any redness or irritation on the skin.
Benefits of green tea on hair
  1. Strengthens your hair.
  2. Stimulates and improves blood circulation.
  3. Reduces hair fall.

There are various reasons of hair loss like:

-pollution
-unclean scalp
-stress, anxiety
-prolonged illness like typhoid, jaundice
-pregnancy
-hormonal imbalance

But the two main factors which cause hair loss the most are DHT factor and loss of blood circulation to your hair follicles.

Green tea can be the solution to these two problems.
DHT (DiHydro Testosterone), which is produced by a particular enzyme (called 5Aplpha) in the body along with testosterone. This DHT then attaches itself to the hair follicles thus shrinking the size of the latter. This is sometimes aggravated by genetic reasons as well, which is why hair loss is also depended on your genetic history.

Since green tea is a very powerful anti-oxidant, it reduces DHT and Cholesterol in your body. It is a herbal process of fighting against the 5Alpha, thus minimizing the effects of hair follicle reduction. It works like a marvel in strengthening hair strands.

Green tea contains a certain molecule called catechin in oodles. This is helpful in acting as an anti-biotic and anti-carcinogenic. Moreover, catechin also helps in stimulating hair growth.

Enough of Global gyan :P happy green tea to you all :D :D

In my next posts i will tell you guys how you can include it into your diet and skin & hair care regime.

Take care.
Lots of love.
Priyanka.

Is ur hair struck in your hair brush?

Heyy guys yesterday was a very awful day for me but thankfully it ended well.. Last evening my aunt wanted to try to curl one section of my hair and blow dry the other. After she finished curling one section she took out a hair roller brush and unconsciously rolled up the brush like a curler and it was an oh f*$% moment for us.. I dint want to chop off my hair..

But thankfully she got an idea and fortunately it worked :) :) :) ..

  1. When you face times like this Pin up rest of your hair.
  2. Take a scissor and cut the bristles of your roller brush.
  3. Gently take out your hair from the roller brush  section by section and thats it!! You have saved your hair :) :) :) :)  phewwww what a relief.
  4. Make sure you don't untangle your hair right after taking it off your roller brush.
  5. Wait for some time and then apply Livon or any other leave on hair conditioner or serum.
  6. Then using a wide toothed comb start coming your the bottom of your hair slowly with a very light pressure.
  7. And as you keep untangling move up and remove all the tangles.
  8. Since your hair and scalp has gone through so much of push and pull I recommend to massage your scalp With warm coconut oil ( you can use any oil of your choice)overnight.
  9. Wash off your hair next morning.

Have you guys ever faced such a moment? What was your remedy? Do let me know in the comment below.

Good Luck

Skin & hair care tips for Holi

HAPPY HOLI :)...

Holi is the festivals of  color filled with loads of fun so do not let your skin/Hair concerns stop you from indulging in the Holi fun. Here are some  skin and hair care tips you would like to try to protect your skin and hair from the damage caused by chemicals.

Pre Holi Skin care:

1. Cleanse your face.

2. Tone your skin using a good toner  it will help close your pores and it prevents the color to go deep into your skin.

3. Dont forget to wear waterproof sunscreen at least 30 mins before you head out for playing Holi.

4.Apply a good amount of olive oil, coconut oil or non sticky baby oil on your face and all over the body were the colour tends to settle, the oil will act as a barrier between the colours and your skin.

5. Protect and hydrate your lips by applying some good lip guard with SPF.

6.Apply some oil behind your ears, ear lobes  as these are points were the colour really tends to settle.

7.Do not wear your contact lenses as this will cause irritation to your eyes.

8. Apply 2 coats of any nail paint and some vaseline or oil on your nails to avoid settling of the colour.

Post Holi skin care :

1.After playing with colors, do not use face wash or soap to cleanse your skin. As they are mostly detergent based & makes the skin dehydrate, it imbalances the pH of skin.

2. Using cotton, dab a little bit of baby oil to clean your eye and eye lashes.

3. Use a mild Body wash and use a loofah to gently take off the color from your body.

4. Use Gram Flour (Besan) + Milk to clean your face and neck.

5. Rubbing papaya on your Skin can also help you get rid of colors.

6. Apply cream based mask to soothe the skin.

7. Do not go for any skin treatment like waxing, threading, facial or any other external medication on skin for two to three days after Holi. Your skin is very sensitive and these treatments may cause an adverse reaction.

8. Moisturize your skin well to keep your skin hydrated and supple.

Pre Holi Hair care

1. Massage your scalp with coconut oil/Olive oil and make sure your hair is covered with oil from root to tip.

2. Cover your hair with a towel squeezed out from hot water for 15 mins. this will help the oil penetrate into your scalp.

3. Before you head out for playing cover your hair with a scarf.

Post Holi Hair care:

1. Rinse your hair completely without using shampoo at first.

 2. Once all the color is  removed, then you can wash it with a mild shampoo and conditioner.

3. To revitalize your hair further, apply curd on the scalp and hair  and rinse off after 30 minutes. Curd is a very good natural hair conditioner.

Do not let the colours of Holi take a toll on your pretty skin and shiny hair. Care for them well and indulge in a HAPPY HOLI.

What are  your skin and hair care tips for Holi?

Lots of love,
Priyanka.
